The Things I Should Be Sorry For is a new performance work being developed in Adelaide in October and November 2012. It relies on submissions from strangers and friends to develop a script of global guilt. Performer / Devisor Chris Scherer and Creative Producer Jennifer Greer Holmes ask you to share the things you should be sorry for.
These shared confessions will examine the meaning of saying sorry. Maybe you’ve said “Sorry” but you’re not sorry at all. Maybe you’re not as sorry as others feel you should be. Maybe you’ve said “Sorry” so many times the word has lost all meaning. We often “express regret” or say “I’m sorry you feel that way” when we should be sorry but aren’t really feeling it. The social and moral obligation of saying and feeling what we should, is a pivotal influence in constructing the type of person we believe we should be.
